Wallbottle, a township in Newburn parish, Northumberland, 5 miles W by N of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and 1 mile from Newburn station on the N.E.R. It has a post office under Newcastle-upon-Tyne; money order and telegraph office, Newburn. Acreage, 1420; population, 1190. The Duke of Northumberland is lord of the manor. There are extensive collieries; also a Wesleyan chapel and a mission room.
