Lorbottle, a village and a township in Whittingham parish, Northumberland, 4 1/2 miles NNW of Rothbury station on the North British railway. Post town and money order office, Whittingham (R.S.O.); telegraph office, Glanton. Acreage of township, 2437; population, 47. Lorbottle Hall is a chief residence.
