Hedley, a township in Ovingham parish, Northumberland, adjacent to the boundary with Durham, 3 miles SE of Stocksfield station on the N.E.R., and 9 ESE of Hesham. It has a post office under Stocksfield; money order office,. Mickley Square; telegraph office, Stocksfield. Area, 2636 acres; population, 254. The manor belongs to the Duke of Northumberland. There are a Wesleyan chapel and a coalmine.
