Espershields, a township in Bywell Sfc Peter parish, Northumberland, on the river Derwent, contiguous to Durham, 8 miles S by E of Corbridge, and 2 from Riding Mill station on the N.E.R. Post town. Riding Mill (R.S.O.) Acreage, 3735 ; population, 127. There is a Roman Catholic chapel.
