Sulby, formerly an extra-parochial tract, now a parish in Market Harborough union, Northamptonshire, 6 miles SW of Market Harborough. Post town, Rugby; money order and telegraph office, Welford. Acreage, 1580; population, 60. The manor belongs to Lord Willonghby de Broke. Sulby Hall, a seat of the Villiers family, is a fine mansion of stone standing in a well-timbered park. A Pre-monstratensian abbey was founded in 1155, and was given at the dissolution to the Hattons. A relic of the abbey in the form of a tomb is still carefully preserved.
