Description
Preston Deanery, a parish in Northamptonshire, on an affluent of the river Nene, 3 1/2 miles SE of Northampton, which is the nearest railway station. Post town and money order office, Northampton; telegraph office, Piddington. Acreage, 1475; population, 107. The manor belongs to the Singleton family. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Peterborough; gross value, £132. The church is an ancient ivy-clad building of stone in the Decorated style, consisting of chancel, nave, and an embattled western tower.
