Harrington, a village and a parish in Northamptonshire. The village stands 2 1/2 miles SW from Desborough station on the M.R., and 7 NW from Rettering; has a post office under Northampton; money order and telegraph office, Relmarsh. The parish comprises 2593 acres; population, 176. It gives the title of Earl and Baron to a branch of the Stanhope family. The manor belongs to the Naylor family. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough; net value, £370 with residence. The church is Early English, cruciform, and good, and has a tower. The hamlet of Thorpe Underwood is partly in this parish and partly in the parish of Rothwell.
