Description
Wiggenhall St Germans, a village and a parish in Norfolk, on the river Ouse, 3 miles from Magdalen Road station on the G.E.R., and 4 SSW of Lynn, with a post, money order, and telegraph office under Lynn, and a wooden bridge over the Ouse. Acreage, 1243; population, 542. All the four Wiggenhall parishes are in Fitton manor, and much of the land is below the high-water level of the Ouse, and protected by strong embankments. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Norwich; net value, £250 with residence. Patrons, the Dean and Chapter of Norwich. The church is an ancient building of rubble in the Perpendicular style, and has been restored. There are Wesleyan and Primitive Methodist chapels.
