Description
Tittleshall, a parish in Norfolk, 5 miles from Dunham station on the G.E.R., and 6 SSW of Fakenham. It includes the ancient parish of Godwick, and has a post office under Swaffham; money order and telegraph office, Litcham. Acreage, 3414; population of the civil parish, 478; of the ecclesiastical, with Godwick and Wellingham, 596. There is a parish council consisting of seven members. Nearly all the property belongs to the Earl of Leicester. The living is a double rectory, united with Wellingham, in the diocese of Norwich; gross value, £765 with residence. Patron, the Earl of Leicester. The church is an ancient edifice of flint in the Gothic style, and was restored in 1891. There are Baptist and Primitive Methodist chapels.
