Thorpe Market, Norfolk

Thorpe Market, a parish, with a village, in Norfolk, 1 1/2 mile from Gunton station on the G.E.R. It has a post office under North Walsham; money order office, Sonthrepps; telegraph office, Gunton railway station. Acreage, 1318; population of the civil parish, 185; of the ecclesiastical with Antingham and Bradfield, 423. Much of the land belongs to Lord Suffield, who is lord of the manor. The village was once a considerable market-town. The living is a vicarage, annexed to Antingham. The church is a modern building of flint in the Decorated style.
