Description
Stanfield, a parish in Norfolk, 3 1/4 miles W by S of Elmham station on the Dereham and Wells section of the G.E.R., and 6 NW by N from Dereham. Post town, Dereham; money order office, Whissonsett; telegraph office, Litcham. Acreage, 938; population, 175. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Norwich; gross value, £334 with residence. The church is an ancient building of flint and stone in the Early English and Perpendicular styles, consisting of chancel, nave, S porch, and an embattled western tower. There is a Primitive Methodist chapel.
