Shouldham Thorpe, Norfolk

Shouldham Thorpe, a parish, with a straggling village, in Norfolk, 4 miles SE of Magdalen Road Junction station on the Ely and Lynn section of the G.E.R., and 4 1/4 NE of Downham Market. It has a post office under Downham; money order office, Shouldham; telegraph office, Watlington. Acreage, 1452; population, 241. The manor belongs to the Hare family. Bricks and tiles are made. The living is annexed to Shouldham. The church is a small but ancient edifice of stone in the Norman, Decorated, and Perpendicular styles. There is a Primitive Methodist chapel.
