Sharrington, a parish, with a village, in Norfolk, 31 miles WSW of Holt, and 3 N from Melton Constable station, both on the Midland and Great Northern Joint railway, and 8 NE from Fakenham. Post town, Dereham; money order and telegraph office, Holt. Acreage, 386; population, 204. The manor belongs to the White family. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Norwich; net value, £166 with residence. The church is a building of flint and stone in the Early English style, consisting of chancel, nave, vestry, and a western tower. It has some very good ancient brasses. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
