Description
Saxlingham Nethergate, a parish, with a pleasant village, in Norfolk, 2 1/2 miles E of Flordon station on the Ipswich and Norwich section of the G.E.R., and 7 S of Norwich. It has a post office under Norwich; money order and telegraph office, Hempnall. Acreage, 1568; population of the civil parish, 565; of the ecclesiastical, 685. The living is a rectory, united with Saxlingham Thorpe, in the diocese of Norwich; joint gross value, £699 with residence. The church is a fine building of flint in the Decorated style, consisting of chancel, nave, S porch, and a pinnacled western tower.
