Fring, a village and a parish in Norfolk, 2 1/2 miles SW of Docking station on the G.E.R., and 8 SW from Burnham market. Post town and money order and telegraph office, Docking, under Lynn. Acreage of the civil parish, 1711; population, 153; of the ecclesiastical, 299. The living is a vicarage, united with that of Shernborne, in the diocese of Norwich; joint gross yearly value, £118 with residence. Patrons, the Dean and Chapter of Norwich. The church is an ancient building of flint in the Perpendicular style. There are some ruins, supposed to be monastic.
