Fersfield, a village and a parish in Norfolk, 2 1/2 miles N of the river Waveney and the boundary with Suffolk, 4 WNW of Diss, and 5 WNW of Diss station on the G.E.R., with a post office under Diss; money order and telegraph office, Kenninghall. Acreage, 1396 ; population, 256. The manor belongs to the Duke of Norfolk. Algar House is a chief residence. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Norwich ; commuted value, £360 with residence. The church is ancient, and has a tower.
