Description
Snitterby, a parish, with a village, in Lincolnshire, 4 1/2 miles SE of Kirton Lindsey station on the M.S. & L.R. main line. It has a post office under Kirton Lindsey (R.S.O.) y money order and telegraph office, Kirton Lindsey. Acreage, 1737; population, 284. The manor belongs to the Hall-Danby family. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Lincoln; net value, £265 with residence, in the gift of the Crown. The church, which was rebuilt in 1866-67, stands on the site of an older building, and is a structure of stone and brick in the Early English style. The tower was rebuilt in 1894. There are also Primitive Methodist and Wesleyan chapels.
