Description
Leasingham, a township and a parish in Lincolnshire. The township lies 2 1/2 miles NNW of Sleaford station on the G.N. and G.E. Joint railways, with a post, money order, and telegraph office, under Sleaford. Acreage, 2082; population, 340. The parish contains also the hamlet of Eox-holme. Acreage, 3017; population, 466. Eoxhoime Hall is a chief residence. The present parish is a consolidation of two quondam parishes-North Leasingham and South Leasingham. The living is a double rectory in the diocese of Lincoln. The parsonage was built in 1840, at a cost of £2300. The church of North Leasingham was pulled down many years ago. The church of South Leasingham is an edifice of stone in the Early English and Later styles. It has a Very fine Transition tower and an Early Decorated broach spire, a porch with two finely-carved angels, and a curious font. There are a Eeformed Wesleyan chapel and some endowed almshouses.
