Kirkby Underwood, a village and a parish in Lincolnshire, 2 1/2 miles W from Rippingale station on the G.N.R., and 5 N by W from Bourn. There is a post office under Bourn; money order and telegraph office, Rippingale. Acreage, 1094; population, 201. The lord of the manor is sole landowner. Bricks are made here. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Lincoln; net value,, £185 with residence. Patron, the Bishop of Lincoln. The church is a small edifice of stone in the Early English and Perpendicular styles, and was restored in 1893.
