Kirkby Green, a parish in Lincolnshire, 7 miles WSW of Kirkstead station on the G.N.R., 8 N by E of Sleaford, and three-fourths of a mile SW of Scopwick station on the G.N. and G.E. Joint railway. Post town, Scopwick, under Lincoln; money order and telegraph office, Metheringham. Acreage, 446; population of the civil parish, 103; of the ecclesiastical, with Scopwick, 452. The manor belongs to the Chaplin family. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Lincoln, and was consolidated in 1868 to the vicarage of Scopwick; joint gross value, £290 with residence, in the gift of the Lord Chancellor. The church, a building of stone in the Early English style, was rebuilt in 1848.
