Hatcliffe, a village and a parish in Lincolnshire, 4 1/2 miles WSW from Waltham station on the G.N.R., and 8 SW from Great Grimsby. The parish includes Gonerby hamlet, and has a post office under Grimsby; money order and telegraph office, Waltham. Acreage, 1395; population, 180. The manor belongs to the Coates family. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Lincoln; net yearly value, £220 with residence, in the gift of the Bishop of Manchester. The church is plain but very good, and has a tower. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
