Description
Haltham-upon-Bain, a parish in Lincolnshire, on the Horncastle Canal, near Woodhall Spa station on the G.N.B., 4 miles SSW from Horncastle. Post town and money order and telegraph office, Horncastle. Acreage, 1234; population of the civil parish, 178; of the ecclesiastical, with Ronghton, 315. The manor belongs to the Dymoke family. The living is a rectory, annexed to the rectory of Roughton, in the diocese of Lincoln; joint gross yearly value, £750 with residence. The church is an ancient building of stone in mixed styles, and there is a Wesleyan chapel.
