Description
Keal, East, a village and a parish in Lincolnshire. The village stands on an acclivity 2 1/2 miles SW by S from Spilsby station on the G.N.R., and 9 SW from Alford. It commands a fine view of the Fens, and has a post office under Spilsby; money order and telegraph office, Spilsby. The parish comprises 1934 acres; population, 350. There are chalybeate springs. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Lincoln; net yearly value, £500 with residence. The church is a building of stone in the Early English style, consists of nave, aisles, and chancel, with a tower, and was restored in 1854. A new E window was placed in the church in 1892. There are a Wesleyan chapel and charities worth about .El 2 a year.
