Doddington, a village, a township, and a parish in Lincolnshire. The village stands near the boundary with Notts, 2 1/2 miles N from Thorpe station on the M.R., and 5 1/4W by S of Lincoln. The parish includes also the township of Whisby, and its post town is Lincoln; money order office, Lincoln; telegraph office, Thorpe railway station. Acreage of the township, 1600; population, 86; acreage of the parish, 2527; population of the civil parish, 147; of the ecclesiastical, 233. Doddington Hall, a Tudor mansion, is a seat of the Jarvis family The living is a rectory in the diocese of Lincoln; net yearly value, £200. The church, a building of stone in the Decorated style, has a tower and spire and is good.
