Description
Candlesby, a parish in Lincolnshire, 2 miles WNW of Burgh station on the G.N.R., and 3 1/2 ENE of Spilsby. It has a post office under Burgh (R.S.O.); money order and telegraph office, Partney. Acreage, 1061; population, 236. Candlesby Hall is a chief residence. Several pieces of old armour and weapons have been found here. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Lincoln; gross yearly value, £208 with residence, in the gift of Magdalen College, Oxford. The church is a modern edifice of brick.
