Gaddesby, a village and a parish in Leicestershire, on an affluent of the rive Wreak, 3 miles SSE of Brooksby stationon the M.R., and 6 SW of Melton Mowbray, with a post, money order, and telegraph office under Leicester. Acreage, 1725; population of the civil parish, 240; of the ecclesiastical, -233. Gaddesby Hall is a chief residence. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Peterborough; gross yearly value, ££156. The church, an ancient building in the Early English style, is one of the finest in Leicestershire. There is a Wes-leyan chapel.
