Evington, a village and a parish in Leicestershire, half a mile from Humberstone station on the G.N.R., and 8 miles ESE from Leicester, with a post office under Leicester; money order office, Oadby; telegraph office, Clarendon Park. Acreage of the civil parish, 1190 ; population, 239 ; of ecclesiastical, 260. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Peterborough ; net value, £132 with residence Patron, the Bishop of Peterborough. The church is a handsome building of stone in the Decorated style. There is an endowed chapel here, now used as a Particular Baptist.
