Carlton, a village, a township, and a parish in Leicestershire, on the Ashby-de-la-Zouch Canal, 1 1/2 mile NW by N of Market-Bosworth station on the Ashby and Nuneaton section of the M.R. Post town, Hinckley; money order and telegraph office, Market-Bosworth. Acreage, 747; population, 267. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough; net yearly value, £116 with residence. The church is a small building of brick in the Gothic style. There is also a small Primitive Methodist chapel.
