Weeton, a township and an ecclesiastical parish in Kirkham parish, Lancashire. The township lies adjacent to the Preston and Wyre railway, 3 1/2 miles NW by W of Kirkham town and railway station. It has a post office under Preston; money order and telegraph office, Wesham. Acreage, 2973; population, 378. There is a parish council consisting of five members. The manor belongs to the Earl of Derby. The ecclesiastical parish was constituted in 1846, and comprises Great and Little Plumpton, Greenhaigh and Esprick, and part of Westby. Population, 877. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Manchester; net value, £180 with residence. Patron, the Vicar of Kirkham. The church was built in 1842, and thoroughly restored in 1880. It is in the Early English style, consisting of chancel, nave, N porch, and turret.
