Description
Southworth with Croft, a parish, with a village, in Lancashire, 1 1/2 mile SSW of Kenyon Junction railway station, and 4 1/2 miles NE by N of Warrington. It has a post and money order office of the name of Croft, under Warrington; telegraph office, Newchurch. Acreage, 1884; population, 914. There is a parish council consisting of six members. The living is annexed to the rectory of Croft, in the diocese of Liverpool; net value, £265 with residence. Patron, the Earl of Derby. The church is in the Perpendicular style, and consists of chancel, nave, N porch, and western tower with spire. There are Unitarian and Roman Catholic chapels, and a police station.
