Description
Osmotherley, a township in Ulverston parish, Lancashire,, 2 miles NW by N of Ulverston station on the Furness railway. Post town and money order and telegraph office, Ulverston. Acreage, including Broughton Beck and Netherhouses, 1929; population, 453. There is a parish council consisting of five-members. The manor belongs to the Duke of Buccleuch. A church was built in 1874 as a chapel of ease to Ulverston parish church. It is in the Early English style, and consists of chancel, nave, N porch, and a bell-turret. Ther& is a church school at Broughton Beck.
