Description
Mitton, Little, a township in Whalley parish, Lancashire, at the confluence of the rivers Hodder and Ribble, contiguous to Great Mitton township, 2 1/2 miles SW of Clitheroe station on the L. & Y.R. Post town, Blackburn; money order and telegraph office, Whalley. The township includes the hamlets of Henthorn and Coldcoates. Acreage, 873; population, 95. The manor belongs to the Aspinall family. A cotton mill is at Henthorn. An inn adjoins the bridge which connects this place with Great Mitton, and is much frequented by anglers.
