Description
Heapey, a township in Leyland parish, Lancashire, with a station on the L. & Y.R. and L. & N.W.R., adjacent to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, 2 miles NE of Chorley railway station. Post town and telegraph office, Chorley; money order office, Wheelton. Acreage, 1464; population of the township, 497; of the ecclesiastical parish, 2035. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Manchester; net value, £166 with residence. The church was built in 1750, and enlarged in 1867.
