Description
Ifield, a parish in Kent, 2 miles from Gravesend station on the S.E.R., and 7 NW from Eochester. It contains part of the village of. Singlewell, which has a post office under Gravesend; money order and telegraph office, Gravesend. Acreage, 313; population, 81. The living is a rectory, annexed to Nurstead, in the diocese of Eochester; value, £150 with residence. The church was restored in 1596 and again in 1838, has a wooden spire, and is very small. Hever Court is the residence of the Fergusson family, who are lords of the manor.
