Waresley, a parish, with a picturesque village, in Hunts, 2 miles NNE of Gamlingay station on the L. & N.W.R., and 7 SE of St Neots. It has a post office under Sandy; money order and telegraph office, Gamlingay. Acreage, 2032; population, 218. The manor, with Waresley Park, a fine mansion in the Italian style, standing in a deer park of 84 acres, belongs to the Duncombe family. The living is a. vicarage in the diocese of Ely; net value, £183 with residence. Patron, Pembroke College, Cambridge. The church, rebuilt in 1857, is in the Early Decorated style.
