Description
Westhide, a parish in Herefordshire, on the Hereford and Gloucester Canal, 2 miles NE of Withington station on the G.W.R., and 6 NE by E of Hereford. Post town, Hereford. Acreage, 1246; population, 150. Hops and fruit are the chief produce of the parish. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to the rectory of Stoke Edith. The church is ancient, and was restored in 1867; it contains two piscinas and some ancient monuments. There is a rare aumbrey im the E wall of the chancel.
