Clodock, a village and a parish in Herefordshire. The village stands on the river Monnow, under the Black Mountains, 4 miles N of Pandy station on the G.W.R., and 9 from Abergavenny. Post town, Abergavenny; money order office, Longtown; telegraph office, Llanfihangel-Crucomey. The parish includes the townships of Longtown, Llanveynoe, Crasswall, and Newton. Acreage, 17,803; population of the civil parish, 1296; of the ecclesiastical, 1073. An old castle and a camp are here on the line of Watling Street. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Hereford; net value, £130. The church is Early English, with a Norman tower. Newton forms a separate ecclesiastical parish.
