Wield, a parish in Hants, 4 miles N of Medstead station, and 6 1/2 W of Alton station on the L. & S.W.R. Post town, Alresford. Acreage, 2104; population, 234. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Winchester; net value, £95. Patron, the Earl of Portsmouth. The church is an ancient building of flint in the Norman style, and contains a magnificent monument of alabaster to William Wallop, Esq.
