Swarraton, a parish in Hants, 4 miles NNW of Alresford station on the L. & S.W.R. Post town, Alresford. Acreage, 755; population of the civil parish, 127; of the ecclesiastical, 430. The Grange is the seat of Lord Ashburton. The living is a rectory, united with Northington vicarage, in the diocese of Winchester; gross value, £300 with residence. Patron, Lord Ashburton. The church was pulled down in 1851, and has not been rebuilt The church at Northington serves the two parishes.
