Description
Ibsley, a parish in Hants, on the river Avon, near the boundary with Dorsetshire, 3 miles N of Ringwood station on the L. & S.W.R. It has a post office under Ringwood; money order and telegraph office, Eingwood. Acreage, 1793; population, 221. The manor belongs to the Earl of Nor-manton. The views on the Avon here are very fine. The living is a rectory, annexed to the vicarage of Fordingbridge, in the diocese of Winchester. The church contains a monument to Sir John Constable. There is a Congregational chapel.
