Description
Weston-on-Avon, a parish in Gloucestershire and Warwickshire, on the river Avon, 3 1/2 miles SW by S of Stratford-on-Avon. Post town, Welford-on-Avon, under Stratford-on-Avon. Acreage of the Gloucestershire portion, which is Weston tithing, 917; of the Warwickshire portion, which is Milcote lordship, 609; population, 90 and 50. For parish council purposes it is divided into Weston-on-Avon and Milcote. Milcote has a station on the Honeybourne and Stratford branch of the G.W.R. The manor belongs to Lord Sackville. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Gloucester and Bristol; gross value, £60. Patron, Lord Sackville. The church is of 15th century date.
