Stratton, a village and a parish in Gloucestershire, 1 mile NNW of Cirencester, with a post and money order office under Cirencester; telegraph office, Cirencester. Acreage, 1424; population of the civil parish, 836; of the ecclesiastical with Baunton, 969. There is a parish council consisting of seven members. The living with Baunton is a rectory in the diocese of Gloucester and Bristol; net value, £220 with residence. The church is ancient, consisting of nave and chancel, with a modern north aisle.
