Filton, Gloucestershire

Description
Filton or Fylton, a village and a parish in Gloucestershire, 5 miles N of Bristol. There is a station on the Bristol and South Wales branch of the G.W.R., and a post office (Fylton) under Bristol; money order and telegraph office, Horfield. Acreage, 1025 ; population, 311. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Gloucester and Bristol; net value, £199 with residence. The church, with the exception of the tower, was rebuilt in 1845, and contains a stone coffin, which was discovered at the rebuilding.
