Coaley or Cowley, a village and a parish in Gloucestershire, 2 miles NE of Coaley Junction station, and 2 SW of Frocester station on the M.R., and 3 NNE of Dursley, with a post office under Dursley; money order and telegraph office, Cam. Acreage, 2948; population, 654. There is an edge-tool manufactory. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Gloucester and Bristol; net value, £200 with residence. Patron, the Bishop of Gloucester and Bristol. The church was rebuilt in 1857. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
