Plawsworth, Durham

Description
Plawsworth, a village and a township, with a station on the N.E.R., in Chester-le-Street parish, Durham, 3 1/2 miles N by W of Durham. Post town and money order office, Nettlesworth; telegraph office, Sacriston. The township includes the hamlet of Nettlesworth. Acreage, 1320; population, 1055. There is a parish council consisting of nine members and a chairman. The Earl of Durham is lord of the manor. Coal is worked. There are a New Connexion Methodist and mission chapels.
