Description

Brearton or Brierton, a township in Stranton parish, Durham, 3 miles W from West Hartlepool, and 2 1/4 from Seaton Carew station on the N.E.R. Area, 762 acres; population, 38. The manor was anciently held by the Greystocks, and after many changes is now the property of the Kirkleatham Free School and the trustees of the Lamb family.
