Description
Thurlestone, a parish, with three hamlets, in Devonshire, on the coast, 4 1/2 miles WSW of Kingsbridge station on the G.W.R. Post town, Kingsbridge. Acreage, 1743; population, 324. Thurlestone Rock is an insulated arched rock, through which boats have sailed. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Exeter; net value, £285 with residence. Patron, Lord Churston. The church is ancient.
