Description
Horwood, a parish in Devonshire, near the river Torridge, 3 miles NE of Bideford station on the L. & S.W.R. Post town, Bideford. Acreage, 875; population, 108. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Exeter; gross value, £175 with residence. The church is ancient but good, has a low turreted tower, and contains monuments of the Denes, the Rolles, and the Pollards; the building was restored in 1889, when several old relics were discovered.
