Dunchideock, a parish in Devonshire, E of the river Teign, 4 miles SW of Exeter town and station on the G.W.R. It has a post office under Exeter; money order and telegraph office, Kenford. Acreage, 968 ; population of the civil parish, 139; of the ecclesiastical, 205. The living is a rectory, united with the rectory of Shillingford, in the diocese of Exeter; joint net value, £250 with residence. The church stands on an eminence, is of the 14th or 15th century, consists of nave, chancel, and north aisle, Lady chapel, with western embattled tower, and has a very fine and delicately carved oak screen of the 15th century. The building was restored in 1880.
