Description
Cheldon, a parish in Devonshire, on the Little Dart, 3 miles ESE of Chulmleigh, and 4 ENE of Eggesford station on the L. & S.W.R. Post town, Chulmleigh. Acreage, 1116; population, 58. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Exeter; net value, £104 with residence. The church consists of nave, chancel, and south porch, with low square tower, and is a neat little building; it was restored in 1873.
